If you need to send an oversized parcel, which is above the maximum dimensions or weight which Royal Mail will handle, Hawk Couriers is the ideal choice. Not only are we more than happy to deliver parcels above Parcelforce’s 30kg weight limit, but we’ll collect it from you and deliver it anywhere in the UK, all on the same day! If you don’t have the necessary equipment, that’s no issue either. Q: What defines a parcel?
A: In layman's terms a parcel is an item or group of items, protected by packaging, so it can be transported. In many instances synonymous with the word ‘package’, a parcel is typically sealed, labelled with a destination address and may include a tracking barcode and return address. Some parcels may be sent as a cardboard box, secured with tape. Other parcels may involve cardboard envelopes or plastic mailing bags. Depending on the goods being sent, the parcel may be padded with bubble wrap, styrofoam or brown paper. This protects the items inside the packaging from being damaged during transport.
Q: What is the maximum size parcel which Royal Mail will take?
A: Defined as a ‘Medium Parcel’, the largest parcels which Royal Mail will handle are 61cm x 46cm x 46cm. There is also a maximum weight of 20kg. Parcelforce (which is part of the Royal Mail Group) will deliver Large Parcels which can be up to 1.5m in length and have a 30kg weight limit.
Q: Does Hawk Couriers accept larger parcels than Royal Mail and Parcelforce?
A: Absolutely. Hawk Couriers routinely collects and delivers parcels over 30kg and items which far exceed the maximum dimensions which Parcelforce will handle. On our Same Day Pallet Delivery Service we even handle multiple parcels and boxes which are stacked and sent together.
Q: Can I send large parcels internationally?
A: Yes. Whether you need to send a parcel to somewhere in Europe or further afield, Hawk Couriers will collect the parcel from you and deliver to any continent and country of your choice. Q: Can Hawk Couriers collect as well as deliver my parcel?
A: Yes. There’s no need to drop your parcel off at one of our depots - we’ll handle the entire process for you. You book your collection address and delivery address for the specified date and one of our couriers will collect the item or consignments from you. We’ll also keep you updated every step of the way, sending you text messages or emails to let you know when we’re on the way to you.
